The band Malicious Mischief was together from the fall of 1999 to sometime in 2001.  We played a strange mix of metal, punk, funk and raggae.  In the end, the band broke up as members got jobs and moved away.  What we left behind was this website, which has been reformated just a bit.  Orignally, this site was part of the Garage website, but now is it's own.
In the fall of 1999, some of the people of the Garage crowd started to jam together regulearly.  The jams started as just a freestyle music session, but began to form regular tunes.  In time, these tunes would form are first songs.  After that, lyrics came and the band was underway.

In the beginning, we started to notice a few things.  Are PA was constructed from stuff we had around the house and a big speaker box.  It used a 355 watt (that's what it's input was rated, I have no idea what it's true output was) techniques amplifier to push two 10" Electro Voice speakers and an 18" Peavey Black Widow Sub woofer in a cabinet as well as some blown base cannons and a 8" Sanyo bookshelf speaker.  A stereo equalizer acted as a crossover with one channel used as base and the other as treble.  A computer with a sound card acted as a microphone pre amp for a super cheap microphone and a drum mechine.  We called this setup Franken PA.  The setup was fun, but we were outgrowing it.  Not only that, we were drawing a lot of negative attention from the Beloit Township Police Department.  It would seem the township sergeant has a anger problem and enjoys using his power to belittle people.  We feel it would be in his best interest to seek professional help and come to terms with his anger in a more positive manner.  However, they inspired the bands name : Malicious Mischief-- the coolest offense a ticket can bare.
Then, tragedy stuck-- we were burglarized and Franken PA was stolen.  They even took the blown base cannons and a worthless old car stereo.  Despite our rocky relationship with the township police department, we had no choice but to ask them for help.  But after the report was filled, nothing else happened.
However, the Garage refuses to be taken down and we decided to get a new PA.  With 1,500 watts and two big mother speakers, the people who hated how loud Franken PA could get would beg for it's return!  We were back on schedule.
Fate decided to test us one more time.  Despite a large wooden storage cabinet with massive locks and an alarm missing the battery, our new PA was stolen.  This time, it meant war!  The officer who came to investigate, probably the coolest person in a blue uniform, worked with us throw the rest of the day.  It was a long day, but it turned out we had been ripped off by our neighbors and our equitment sold off to an other local band.  We got the new PA back, and the speaker box from Franken-PA.  And the moral of the story-- karma, and despite disgruntaled sergeants, there are cool cops that actually do help people.
Now the drama was over, and the band could continue to do what the band does best-- create music mayhem.  By this time, we had a developing style : Loud, abnoxious, offensive and subject to change without notice!
In February of 2000, we were approached by Cheap-Ass Productions and asked if we would like to open for a show.  It was considered an honor and we accepted.  However, there was some work to do.  We had song and lyrics, but there was a lot of parts unfinished and we did not have a complete set.  But the thoughts of playing a show fueled us to complete a great deal in a short period of time.  Soon, we had a set and March 18th, the world herd Malicious Mischief for the first time.
We've played several shows since then and have further developed our style.  These days, we practice at the Warehouse ware we can play at full volume and not tick the neighbors (more like neighborhood) off.  Our PA has been used at most of the Cheap Ass production shows-- many of which we've played at.
In September of 2001, Andrew Que moved to Kansas City, Missoiri and left the band.
